Backlink Reclamation - Importance and Best Report / Tool?

Wondering what are people's opinion on imortance of backlink reclamation from the standpoint of identifying broken inbound links and doing a 301 redirect to other pre-existing pages. Example would be an inbound link to a product page and the product no longer exists so you 301 to the next page up, typically the brand page. Obviously it depends on what site the link is coming from, but curious where people see this activity as ranking on the best bang for the buck (time) list of SEO activities?
I did note in Moz Pro, they actually generate a list of 404 pages from inbound links and show you the Page Authority of the inbound site so you can prioritize.
SEO Profiler didn't have such as report and recommended copying and pasting a link list into HTTP Status Code Checker — httpstatus.io which is fairly ridiculous when you've got a list of thousands of links.
Is Moz Pro unique in this feature due to Open Site Explorer or does Ahrefs (which I haven't used in quite some time) or other tools out there to give you a ranked list of broken inbound links?
