    SEOs prefer as a way to make back links. Also, they prefer directory submission as an easy and cost effective way to get their sites attracted by search engines. So, directory submissions are still effective.

    It depends on what type of directory you are submitting to. Low quality directories can hurt your website.Use some High PR directories(ex:dmoz,yahoo,botw,Business.com) as well as niche directories it will be useful.you want to do is submit manually to a handful of good web directories that have a real human reviewing each submission. There aren’t that many of them out there and links from those directories still count and produce trust in the eyes of Google.If you are doing 100 or 1000 directory submissions it hurt your rankings.

    Directory Submission web sites are also very effective now days, but it depends on what type of directory submission website are you using.

    I suggest you, only use that websites which have high domain and page authority. Only these directory submission websites links good for your website.

    Though directory submissions have received negative feedbacks I still believe that it's not dead and still works for seo. It is beneficial if you do it on sites with good page rank and domain authority. Also, the site should be relevant to your niche.

    It's right but for LOCAL SEO it has a good impact in SERP. So, if you're doing Local SEO you should do DIRECTORY SUBMISSION and I think it'll help you to rank for local keywords.

    Directories submission works in SEO but it less effective. Because we need approval from admin for our link submitted and it takes times. If you want quick result, this is not beneficial. But in long way It can helps in indexing your site frequently and you can get traffic as well. But while submitting you need to take care you choose high PR directories sites.

    Well, Directory Submission has really gone into Black hat Methods, which are not working anymore, unless we do really do some research and find good authority directories, where we can submit our sites to get some link juice. But there are only a few left, so deep research might be needed to find them.
