I am so confused about using words which could be keywords also. example
I am writing article on blogging and article is of 600 words, my question is how many time I can repeat the word "blogging" in it, will it considered as keyword surfing if I use more than 20 time? because If am talking about blogging it means it would use in every paragraph. can you please tell me how many time I can use my keywords in 1 article with 600 words? and does this repeat will considered keyword surfing?

Unless you're writing for a client who insists on a specific keyword density, ignore it and speak (I mean, "write") as your normally would so that your readers aren't turned off.

Use the keyword as many times as you would in natural speech. Keyword stuffing (not surfing) is the result of using a keyword in an unnatural manner. Since you don't speak that way, don't write that way.

Google have prohibited using excess keywords. You can use 3 to 5 % keywords in a paragraph. moreover your site content need to be unique and attractive so that every coming visitors stay in your site for a long time.

    There is no exact number.

You should focus on creating quality articles and sprinkling with articles NATURALLY.

Don't stuff keywords. That will get you penalized by Google.

Based on my experience I would say use your main keyword in first paragraph, in middle of post, in sub header between post content and in last paragraph.

This way google identify your main keyword of each post to rank and to show relevant adsense ads!

    Hope it helps

Well, it is crucial to know or stuff keywords or words in a article.
While writing an article, we need to take care of keyword stuff. There is a protocol for keyword stuffing in an article and the ratio is 3 or maximum 4 not more then that.

Keyword staffing... You know, it is possible only in two ways: do it on purpose or if you're a very bad writer and can't express your thoughts normally. Without using the same word over and over again. If both variants have nothing to do with you then everything is ok.

I'm curious what the suggested number of times is for including an EXACT keyword in a document, OTHER than in the page title, h1 and alt text? What does SEOMoz advocate for this?

There is no suggested number of times a keyword will occur in an article, instead, use synonyms for your target keyword.

  • Just focus on your article and try to write it naturally. Naturally written article never sound as a keyword stuffing.as we all know according to the Google your keywords density not should be more than 2% .but if you are writing many articles and some post are grater than 2% than that no means it is stuffing.so just serve quality and unique content and forget all about things.

There is a simple formula which calculates Keyword density:

Keyword density(%)= No. of times your are mentioning keyword
    ---------------------------------------------------------- X 100
    Total number of words

The ideal percentage should be between 3-4%. Hope it helps you write optimized content.

      Who decided this ideal?

If I have 100 words on the page and the 'keyword' is made of up 6 words, then at 4%, 24 of the words in my content are the keyword. What can the other 76 words do to make the content make sense?

Why not use the keyword as many times as it makes sense, not one time more, not one time less?

What? You want people to actually do research? Think? Work? C'mon, man, that's so last century!

Your first sentence alone requires that they google something, look at results, think, make a connection, record/remember connection.

That's a lot to ask of a would-be millionaire. People around here have a hard time typing a few words in the warrior forum search bar and hitting enter. The OP, for instance.

As said earlier, focus more on writing your content in clear good english (or your language of choice) rather than worrying about keyword repetition.

    Keyword Density (%) = (number of keywords)x(the number of occurrences)/(total words) x 100
The ideal percentage should not be more than 1%. Assuming your article has 2000 words, you should use your keywords in this article about 7 time.

Write like you talk and do not worry about keyword density. If you want to get technical Google search "themed content" and learn how to write articles with multiple keyword phrases according to what people are looking for. A themed content article lets you rank for many keywords from one article. Much easier then trying to rank by writing a lot of articles.

      Actually, it's a keyword too.

You put that into the Google search bar and see what suggestions Google gives you.

You put that into Google keyword planner, and see what suggestions Google gives you.

First of all text should be human readable. So you don't need to use keywords frequently.
Also you should use markup for important words titles, h1 and others.

For specific keywords you can view several pages from serp, and use them as examples. But you should be very careful with this because high ranking depends not only on text content but other factors
