  • Depends a bit wether you're talking about Domain Authority the Moz metric, or just website authority in general. The former is much easier to increase by blasting crap links.

The links are often nofollow, and even when they aren't the page is often spammed to the point of each link having no real value. I find it likely that Google can also often recognize a blog comment, and discount those links accordingly.

  • If you create low quality blog comment links, it will affect your website. Don't follow Exact Target Keyword with links.
  • You should never use a keyword when doing blog commenting and use a real name.

    • Hi Taposh

Blog Commenting it's very useful and helpful for increase the Domain authority,Generate More Traffic and Keywords Ranking ,Page rank but You should never used keywords in Commenting only used Real name. You submit comment 3 commenting per days High Pr ranking Blog commenting Sites .
  • If you were google, would a ton of blog comments on unrelated blogs look spammy? The answer is yes. If you're going to do it (I wouldn't use blog commenting as a SEO strategy in 2015), stick to relevant blogs, add helpful comments, and don't keyword stuff.

    • The Rules of Blog Commenting

      1) All blog comments are spam.
      2) If you think your comments are not spam, please refer to rule #1

The flip side, is not allowing comments either, unless it's
a throwaway site. I have no such sites.

    • Whatever Jason said!

Don't ever use a software to blast your comments, but do leave a comment on blogs you actually read. Heck, I did a case study on this a couple years ago where all I did was go out and manually comment (one blog at a time) on every blog I could that was relevant for the "town name" I was targeting.

To this day that blog I linked to (using my name, not the town name) is on first page of Google for just about any search that includes that town name.

Got some neat followers as a result of those comments as well.

As Jason said though, make sure they are relevant blogs otherwise you are pretty much wasting your time.

  • konradbraun - Did you only stick to dofollow comments?

    • I do remember targeting "comment luv" enabled sites (sites that use a plugin which gives commenters a dofollow link) for that town name but found it only gave me a handful of blogs to comment on. Which is when I started going broad and commented on anything that talked about that town.

I give more credit to the high relevancy of those blogs than I do to dofollow vs nofollow though.

      Did that answer your question?

  • It very useful increase the domain authority of your website try to build two and three comments per day from high authority websites.
  • Is the blog dofollow? Is it spammed to death? How many Out Bound Links are there? Is the blog relevant to the niche? Any authority? All these questions need to be answered in order for an opinion on the backlink is gave.

    Thanks and good luck
  • Most of the blog offers real= "no follow" So, here is no effect on search ranking, domain authority. it only can provide some referral traffic. But, if there are a few "do follow" links, then, you could experience both good and bad effects in SEO. For instance; relevant ''do follow" links will good for SEO and irrelevant "do follow" links might caught you as link scammer.
