Browseo.net still valid? New site and page words increased dramatically!

Hey All,
New to the site, first post, so go easy please
I am having a new website created, old one is an ecommerce site on a completely custom platform, the new one is based on Magento.
However, the Magento theme that has been designed creates quite large pages, I believe this is down to our dynamic menu which allows the user to access any product from anywhere on the site. I compared two pages using browseo.net, the old page has 854 words and 62 links on a product page.....the new page in Magento with our fancy menu is 6101 words with 1200 internal links. Both pages have the same product description.
My guess is that Google might not be super happy going through 1200 internal links on each page of the site....which may cause the actual page to marked as less as important than before....but I could be wrong. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
