Submitting PPT, Word or PDF docs to any sites won't do a lot of good for SEO. These are weak profile links even if they are DOFOLLOW.

If you have enough content in the form of documents produced on a regular basis submit them to some high PR sites like Issue. Com. Optimize the content which you submit for a few keywords which can bring you additional direct traffic to your site. Read up on Barnacle SEO for more information. It will take time to show results but these sites CAN rank.

Submitting a powerpoint presentation to a site like slideshare.net isn't going to help your rankings. Use it as it's meant to be used - to provide helpful/informative information about your subject matter.

Stop blasting sites like this with useless rubbish in an effort to game Google.

But, John, that might produce good results! Aren't good results over-rated?

One day is about power point document submission, the next is about pdf, the next about images, the next about articles... Everything that produces crappy links and takes up lots of resources.

I bet if you asked them they'll tell you that the best way to fill your hot tub with water is to take a teaspoon, run down to the nearest river, fill the teaspoon with water, come home, pour the water in the tub, then rinse and repeat

Do you have a presentation that someone could find useful without you presenting it to them? Great, share it. It's got very little to do with SEO, but the presentation looks nice in the accompanying blog post that you're writing. That's it.

I know a guy who's done small-scale researches on the local social media usage and phenomena around it. He's a public speaker as far as I know, but the slides give some extra credibility to his blog posts.

Nah, it's not that bad. But you should ignore 99% of all the functionality in Powerpoint. Just have gorgeous images, and at most have some of your key concepts mentioned on the screen. Bullet lists were silly and stupid back when I studying more than decade ago.

First, there's no such thing as a high PR site: PR applies to pages. Secondly, Google isn't telling what a page's PR is. How do you know which one has high PR?

PPT submissions are quite good to give information in a customized method! It really helps to present a business perspective in front of the viewers in the attractive way in order to reduce them into potential clients for the long period! I think that PPT submission is one the best ways to rank the website in any search engine and it also good for presentations!

Somebody once did a top ten of things NOT to do
with PPT. After the mind-numbing ridiculous things
like sound effects, reading word for word,silly videos,
light letters light background, dark letters dark
background,etc.,

....the number one thing NOT to do with PPT?

Use it to give a presentation.

I suppose if you included a slide with your url as a reference,
it might help with traffic....from clueless people using PPT.
