Hey guys,

Warrios members helped me so much with Adwords and now I would need some help with SEO!
I'm very new into SEO so consider me as a perfect newbie please. We're running a video games e-retailer website and we would like to increase our Google ranking. I don't know if ''increase'' is the right verb because right now, we're almost absent of the firsts google page. That's why I've got a lot of questions regarding SEO.

1/ Is there a software or a website that tells you your position in Google ranking?

2/ The keywords we're targeting are ''indie games''. (I've ran a Google keywords planner before and that's what our customers are looking for).

3/ Our google position for ''indie games'' is pretty bad but our position for ''japanese indie games'' is pretty good. Do you know why such a difference?

4/ We've got a lot of different pages (because we've got a lot of different games). Do I have to put the keywords ''Indie game'' in each title page? If not, where do I need to put those keywords? I'm not so interested by having the name of the games themselves as keywords because most of those games are unknown.

5/ What is the use of the meta-description? Does it help with the ranking? Or is it just to improve the CTR?

6/ I read a lot of stuff regarding the index page. I don't know if we have one. Is it important? Why? How is it related to keywords?

7/ I've also read a lot of stuff regarding not the title but the ''h1, h2, h3'' HTML lines. What is it exactly? Will including my keywords into those html lines improve our google position with ''indie games'' keywords?

Last but not least, I know that some people are ''cheating'' to increase their google ranking. We don't want to do that, we're aiming for the long run. We don't mind if we're not the first link but we would like, at least, to appear on the first page to increase our organic traffic.

Thank you so much guys.

PRM.

    1. There're many tools that help you to check the position such as:Free Monitor for Google, Rank Tracker,...(just google it)
    2.
    3. B/c the keywords ''japanese indie games'' is longer than ''indie games'' so it's easier to get high rank (maybe it has few competitors, few contents, ...)
    4. No, I think you should do only 1 difference keyword for each page
    5. Just google "what is meta-description", it will answer your question . Yes, it helps for both ranking and CTR.
    6. Index page is important, it's the page you're trying to get rank for specific keywords. If Google index you page fast, you're have chances to get higher rank.
    7. They're just the HTML tags. Yes, in your page content, you should include your keywords into these tags, especially H1, H2, H3 and H6 tags.

Certainly, we should do SEO with long term strategies, so try to do it carefully and no any cheating
    I hope this help

    5/ THE COMPETITION

6/ AS LONG AS YOU HAVE SITEMAP.XML thats enough

7/ DO NOT have your H1 "indie games" and the URL of the post contaning INDIE GAMES its instant OVER OPTIMISATION,

    8) Cheating ? yes Buy links.. you need $1000's to have a good impact
