Hi warriors.
I would like to know your opinion and your personal experiences about social bookmarking.
social bookmarking still working for you or not?
If working for you please recommend me the list of the best sites in 2016 for social bookmarking.
I've collect few high authority sites in previous days as well if anyone of you need them i can share my excel list.(you can drop your email address in comments for the social bookmarking sites which i have collected )

    If you are talking about for helping to rank a webpage, social bookmarking never did help. It was only ever good for direct traffic.

    To be honest, influence of social bookmarking on seo in 2016 has drastically declined so much so as that it has zero effect on rankings, this is also because of the Google's Search Engine Algorithm Updates which were fine tuned to improve rankings of websites with quality content over no. of back-links.
    If you still want to do social bookmarking I would suggest that you work with facebook, twitter & google+ only.

      Create a bunch of URL shorteners to your Social Bookmarks and then fire a GSA blast at them and still tell me that they have zero effect on rankings.

      Also, different SEO strategies apply to different niches, so your one-size-fits-all statement is not accurate.

    I have Working with the SEO Domain from last 5 Years , from this I am Sure the Social Bookmarking Affects a lot for your Link Building Strategy & Promotional Strategy .
    As the SEO evolve day by day. new trends updates are strike out on the Board which affect our Website ranking . So for that you have to change your way of Submission ex.
    1 Check Bookmarking Site Authority
    2 Check Google SERP if these websites are in SERP or Not.
    3 Check for Last Updated Content on the Website.
    4 Link Influence rate of Particular Site
    5 Change Title and some how Description , search tag frequently on different Social Bookmaking site while submission.
    6 Update your Profile on Different websites regularly because some website owner remove inactive members from their database so as they remove you all of your work also get vanished.

    If you are follow these things your Social Bookmarking gives you High back links.

    What do you mean by still works?

    If you are trying to generate direct traffic from social networks like Facebook and Twitter, then yes it still works. IME the conversion from that source of traffic is awful.

    If you mean does it still work to gain Facebook likes and shares etc... still results in higher Google rankings, you've been reading about SEO myths. Social network activity has never been linked to direct SEO benefit: Google ignores Facebook likes/shares and Twitter Tweets etc... For starters a significant amount of social network activity isn't even available to Google to use as a ranking factor and all of the backlinks are nofollow and Google ignores nofollow links.

    Yes it works BUT make sure that you aren't using a software to make submissions and make sure you only submit to quality social bookmarking sites.

    Just go after the top ones & ignore the rest.

    Also make sure your description etc. for each submission is different.

    The most that can happen is that you will get a link for doing so & you might get a little traffic - chances are, you won't get thousands of visitors through it.

    Check social bookmarking links on SERP, whether they are cached in search results or not.
    To submit your website link to 100s of social bookmarking sites will not work. Study on the select sites and go further posting . Analysis the results that come out from the submission and decide your self whether to post on social bookmarking platform or not.

    Low quality, unrelated. unnatural didn't help ever. So if you really interested to do social bookmark then find out popular ones and start to submit your articles. Happy working

    Hi Muzammil, yes they work really good still. Just have to make fresh regularly posts where ever you go. https://hootsuite.com/ would have to be one of the best sites that saves you time on going to a dozen of social book marking sites. For example, you can post one post and it will post them all to your linked social media accounts within Hootsuite. Also it tracks every click and view. So you'll now what works and what doesn't.     Wow we got some variance in opinions here... any have actual test numbers to show that you added these SB parts in isolation to any other edits, and then you saw these change in rankings?

    My thinking is, pick a few top ones, do them carefully on each one, and if you have time, do it maybe once a month. I think in a highly competitive world, those 10 minutes spent can only help, I wonder if this sounds about right on average. I think results will also vary a lot depending on the niche actually.

    Yes, it affects but if you do it in limited and quality way.Mass bookmarking will do nothing.Instead, you can submit your sites and posts to HIGH SERP ranked social bookmarking sites and see the results. Do it regularly and uniquely.
