Hey guys can you predict how SEO will change in 2017?

  • It won't change.

Links and content will continue to rank pages.

    • You're wrong. It's about to hit puberty, which means it's gonna grow boobs, facial hair and enough attitude to spoil anyone's dinner!

This is why nobody will let you sit with them at lunch.
  • I think authenticate links & quality content are massive part of SEO.

  • Recently most of powerful search engine google develop their search engine optimization algorithm to ranking page or keyword,Unique powerful content is very important for a Blog. But don't forget to create backlink. Directory Submission, Web 2.0, Google Answer, Yahoo Answer, Article marketing always part of SEO.

  • Nowaday SEO is more and more harder

    • I would argue the opposite. A few years ago when spam worked easily to rank in even the most difficult niches, that was hard to beat. When Google was much worse at understanding the relevancy of a link and people could just drop links anywhere, that was hard to beat.

There might be more competition now in some niches as the internet gets larger and larger, but I would say overall, SEO has become easier. Maybe more time consuming. Maybe more costly. But not harder.

  • I have excellent content and pretty solid keywords, but it seems that to get my site into play backlinks are still the key (pun unintended). What role does a grey hat tool like scrapebox play in this evolving world? Still useful or outmoded?

    • Scrapebox is fine for finding opportunities for outreach and other link acquisition methods.

If you think you are just going to throw up a bunch of blog comments with it and rank, you will probably feel it was a waste of money.
    • don't use Scrapebox. You're not gonna get anywhere with it...think of softwares like this, as hacker software that just serves a purpose towards marketing...I don't use GSA or Scrapebox for any of their intended purposes.

  • Well, if to put it in a nutshell:
-SEO remains part of multi-channel marketing in 2017
Make sure customers can find your business through social, paid search, offline ads, etc. And of course, organic search is an integral part of a complex path to conversion.
-Google is becoming smarter and smarter by actively moving into providing personalized search experience. It now also looks at synonyms, your niche connections, location, understands entities. (Thanks to RankBrain)
-Google introduced the mobile-first index, and AMP pages are gaining momentum. So being mobile-friendly is an industry standard now.
-A few years ago, Google changed Google Shopping's organic model to pay-per-click. In 2016 paid ads in Local Search came around. The trend will likely persist and we'll experience more native-like ad formats in the near future.

Taking into account this info some conclusions can be drawn on the upcoming trends for 2017.

    Hope it helps a bit!

    • I am reading mixed reviews about Google Amp. It has been predicted it would be very important factor ... but to early to tell I guess.

    • here are a few things I've noticed and they may have been around for a while....search a product in google, look at rankigns and then search it in youtube and click on 1 or 3 videos . Then search for the product again in google...I've noticed that sometimes, the first video I clicked shows up in the rankings.

Based on this alone. You can tell that Google is working to start serving up what the user has previously "educated" themselves on. One of the goals for the machine was to identify and sort results based on how well it was shared...this is flawed..

The next best thing would be to track every user and show results based on what they've personally clicked on social networks. Anything that's connected to any google product is beign tracked by google...they have the advantage of serving up any info they want just by people using retargetting methods etc..

Google lives in America and America is all about capitalism. So a majority of ideas are gonna be based on "how do we increase revenue". Best way to do that is to push people to use all of your products...if everyone stopped using google products. G's rank brain would end .

The page rank system can never change. Google can only add new things to it...They have a ton of products, companies are capitalists so they are gonna figure out a way to get everyone to use a combination of their products to get them to rank...it's not there yet but every year it gets closer.

  • nothing will change. How you surf the web and the content you're served up most likely will.

PAGE RANK has never changed because Google can't change it because it's pretty much impossible without building a brand new system...All Google can do now is sweep their serps, find things that trigger their flags and then deindex them if they want too.
  • No one can predict what will be the changes in SEO in 2017. But the only thing that will remain unchanged in SEO in 2017 is the link building & the usage of quality content in OFF Page technique. You would require a cheapest marketing technique & SEO is the best technique that could be done by paying only a few amounts of money for it.
  • Unique powerful content is the backbone of every website. Quality backlinks will surely bring a positive change in SEO. However no one can predict about it.
  • SEO is not going to change but it is going to evolve. More updates are going to come and you have to mold your SEO practices according to that. You cannot proceed with spammy practices or boring stuffs. People have enough content and reference links, but they do not have time to go through them. So, your challenge is going to get double. You have to search for new tactics to overcome these challenges and achieve success. Like at this point of time, the web is flooded with content on the same topic SEO Updates in 2017. You can go through those content in different blogs of Search Engine Land, Techmagnate, Search Engine Journal, Kiss Metrics and many more. I think you will get a better idea of all the changes that are going to come in SEO in 2017.
  • Till now google has not changed anything, but not sure about google for new updates.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
