I created a link to my website using my other blog, which is registered on different hosting and on different godaddy account. I just want to know if it's safe to exchange links between your sites?

Ps. the only thing that worries me is that i was using same webmaster account to manage this domains.

    It's not a problem.

All of this though, doesn't matter one bit if you have them under the same Webmaster Tools account.

I have already removed this property from my webmaster tools, so now both websites have different domain/hosting and most importantly different webmaster account. I was just worried about the fact that in the past this websites were connected in some way ..

I don't think Google forgets info like that. They already know you own them both.

Anyhow, linking two sites together that you own is not a big deal.

Agreed, if both websites are in the same niche you can easily exchange the links between them.

If You Don't know let me tell you. Google understand Backlink as an upvote. If other website point links toward your website then google upvote your article [Google bot thought that this article might be great then others]. But if you Point link to that article from your website then google bot can't understand which article is worthy.
    Conclusion :
Link exchange is not worthy in new google algorithm.
    SOLUTION:
Only point link from on of your website to other not give back link to that website. It's your choice to choose which website really need backlink
I'll hope you understand, need SEO help leave a message.
    Thanks

Actually, i did the same thing which you suggested in solution. I only created a backlink to my websites, but have not exchanged links between my sites. As I mentioned before I was just worried about the fact that in the past these websites were connected in some way. And google knew that i was the owner of both websites...

Google does not care if you own a million sites and link them all together. Unless the sites are distrusted, hacked junk. But then, why would you even own such sites?

In fact, it's what big sites do. And anyone who tells you that google hates this, or that, or any other such nonsense, is just full of BS.

Go to amazon.com. Scroll to bottom. Count how many sites they link to....

back in the day I used to have a lot of manual reciprocal link action happening. Yes google changed the rules on that. BUT I only still create links between my sites in one direction.

Yes they are both on the same gwt account - but I use an image (basically an ad) on one of my sites (same niche) to send possible new customers to the other site. LARGE corporations do this between their sub-brand sites so their shouldn't be an issue. I think its mainly that reciprocal links (particularly between home pages where its seen just for passing juice) is what doesnt work anymore.

Correct me if I am wrong. Cheers b
