Keyword grouping (clustering) best practices?

It's a given that ranking your page for a group of related (and semantically close) keywords is the way to go. But my question is where do you put them?

Is blog commenting with relevant keywords stuffed in considered to be ok?

Text analysis tools show recommendations on the length of my article and keywords that would best fit either my titles, H1 heading, and body along with the score that shows how much these keywords appear through the similar articles of my competitors:

So should I include these keywords too? Obviously these are recommended keywords to use, but wouldn't that also mean that I would have to rank my way up through a more competitive field?

Worrying about keywords too much will drive you insane and Google will get you sooner or later. Focus on a theme instead of keywords in content. Then, any time you link back to the content, throw out keywords and use what makes sense.

Stop trying to shove keywords throughout your content. It's not a good strategy anymore, even if you're sneaky or have a group of them. Instead, have a topic and let the keywords happen naturally.

If you must use keywords, use them once, twice at most and make sure it's incredibly natural like they were never planned to be there.

Exactly correct. Don't worry too much about keywords.

The query about blog commenting. Yeah you can put keywords in them as long as they are relevant and look natural. Blog commenting can be very great in order to drive targeted referral traffic to your site.

I agree. Be careful with keywords in blog commenting strategies and make sure they are real comments adding to the discussion. If you spam and just spin some keywords, you'll be wasting time and money.

A link without a targeted keyword phrase is better than thinking you just received great links from bad comments only to find out they were basically useless.

I'd choose 10-20 top blogs allowing you a domain link with the words you choose as your name and focus on commenting on those for a while. After you do it for a month or so, maybe mix in another 10.
