Can anyone explain me, what is the difference between Directory and blog submission?

Hi, While doing off page optimisation we are focusing some submission.
I have 2 questions
1.What is the difference between Directory submission and Blog directory submission?
2.Why should we listed our business in Local business and Classified Sites?

    There's no real difference. There are directories which accept all types of websites - and there are directories focussed on blogs.

    Don't go overboard submitting your site to a load of low-quality directories - these links count for little or nothing with Google, and too many of them - especially if you're using anchor text with keywords could actually do more harm than good.

    A great rule of thumb is to get links from sites that you think will get you traffic - real people who will be interested in what you have to offer.

    So:

    * Directories local to your area - if you have a bricks and mortar business.

    * Directories that specialize in the subject of your website

    * Directories that have traffic - ones that real people actually use to find websites - not just directories created for SEO purposes.

    Honestly - there aren't very many directories worth listing your site in.

    But if you focus on getting links that will send traffic to your site - you'll be getting the links Google wants to count.

      The only thing I would add to this is to only submit to directories that have an editorial review process where they decide if your site is worthy of being in their directory. If they automatically accept anyone who submits to them, they are worthless.
