I am writing a description for one of my categories to help my SEO with Google search.
But the description is hidden until customer actually clicks on "Description" of the product.

Does Google count this for SEO purposes?

It seems that you are talking about product descriptions for product/ecommerce websites. Yes, Google counts this description for SEO purpose.

It doesn't matter whether this description is hidden or visible - as far as this is on the website.

    Good luck.

I don't think anyone here is clear on what you are asking (and neither am I). You say you are writing a description for a CATEGORY but that description is hidden for the PRODUCT.

Is it a category description that you are writing or a product description?

I'm pretty sure you are not talking about meta descriptions at all here, which is what so many people seem to be commenting about.

I sincerely doubt that if you have hidden the description, that Google sees it. A simple right click and View Page Source would likely tell you what a search engine sees.
