Archived pages appearing from nowhere in Google Search

Hi Mates,

I have a website - Technicalguru.info

When I use an operator in google search site:technicalguru.info to check indexing, I get to see the pages from my site appearing in the search results. The problem is that there are few categories which are showing as <category> Archives. I never archived those pages.



On the contrary, when I click on the link it takes me to the correct page and there is no existence of "archive" in the page URL as well.

Is this something normal or is it something to worried about?

PS . I am using Wordpress.

    It might just be held in the Google cache for yourwebsite and be dropped in the next refresh.

    URLs do not dictate SERP titles.

    It is in your title tag, so it is showing up exactly as it is supposed to.

    Mike is right. It is definitely a title tag. It may very well be one of the many pages that get automatically created by your platform (I'm guessing WordPress) and you may have no control at all over the title tag of those auto-created archive pages.

    If it bothers you, there is a plugin that supposedly lets you take control of that (and other similar types of auto-created pages) - https://wordpress.org/plugins/custom-archive-titles/

    It seems that the OP is not familiar with the title tag and also search engine randomly pull some of the information within your site in which they will provide in the SE results.
