You could try contacting them and threatening them with a lawsuit. Of course, if they are in another country like China, they just laugh at lawsuits. You could also file a DMCA takedown notice.

Keep in mind, however, that if they are only using a snippet of your text, they may be within their legal rights. Google would not exist if they weren't allowed to show snippets of every website, book, magazine, etc. in their search engine.

The unfortunate bit is, there is no foolproof way to prevent your content from being stolen. However, there are some things you can do to protect your content and reduce the chances of it being copied and posted without your permission.

For instance, you need to create a clear copyright notice and a Terms of Use page. This includes sections that let people know they cannot use your content without your explicit permission. Additionally, you can try disabling "right click" and "highlighting" features, this way, they will have a hard time copying.

As for the content they've already copied, you can try the DMCA takedown approach suggested by dave_hermansen above.

Using Copyright Notice as deterrence is something child would laugh at
because you have to physically file lawsuit, pay and all it's will do is proof
that you are real owner. The question is, what are you going to do after.

Are you going to try to collect? Fine but get ready to spend more money,
not to mention it will take so long, you'll wish you would never started it.

And yeah, you can file a DMCA take down notice, which in my opinion
is totally useless exercise for Joe Public and "may" work if you run huge
corporation with vast resources but have nothing better to do but to fight.

My advice, periodically edit content, change things here and there and...
save your time on trying to fight windmills.

Don't worry about it, Google will pick up those tactics eventually and penalize him. Those sites never rank for long (if at all).

Your site will be fine 99.9% of the time if yours was the original, don't sweat it.

Copyright law, DMCA, etc. does not really count outside of the US.

And get this...it's not illegal in the states to scrape a paragraph or two..a page, an image, etc...

Of course the reality is, if this crap is outranking you...then you are crap.

Climb out of the crap hole by doing hard work.

Well sure you can go for copywrite and lawsuite but that depends on the country where you are residing. countries like USA, UK australia have very stringent laws regarding copywriting. But if it is some asian country you cannot do anything. You can just warn them and the ill effects it has on their website.

There is honestly nothing you can do. Happens to me daily. It is very frustrating. The time and money you will spend to enforce it would not be worth it financially to you. It's just part of having an online business.

Just do nothing. Better do more productive things for your time
