Negative SEO offers

About two weeks ago, I started getting offers for negative SEO. They have packages from $79 to $500. They propose to create the worst backloinks to any of my competitors who do not play fair and destroy them.


Have I missed a memo about negative SEO or...


Do people really buy?

  • Beginners, naive people, or those who are poorly versed in the topic will always exist. If there is supply, then there is demand.
  • I guess if you've been an idiot blackhat SEO for many years and have a ton of websites that have all been turned to crap by Google, that's one way to try to re-monetize them - turn them into bad sites to get links from. Then place the links yourself to the competitors of the sites that are stupid enough to pay you money for something that likely will never work.

    Then again, chances are, they don't provide a single bad link to any of your competitors and run away with your money, laughing ... criminals cheating other criminals.

  • I think some of these 'things' are cyclic....they are trash offers and the word is spread so they go away....a couple years later they are advertised again for a whole new group of 'marketers'.

      First, this is not black hat SEO; it's just Stoopid SEO.

      Second, if it worked, you'd have to know who did it, and that can be hidden.

  • I think you should focus on quality SEO works rather than negative Seo for your competitors.
    You must work on social media channels, off-page SEO, and influence marketing.
    Apart from this, you have to work on blogs, articles, and guest posting sites.

  • To answer this question I need to ask - do you believe in DA MOZ rating? If yes, it works and by. For example I had 60 shit websites backlinks like ftykseu.xyz with spam rating 80/90. Yes, they effect the spam rating of our website as well. If war against competitors could be why cannot be wars to kick the website of the competitor off?

    • Because there is no such thing as negative SEO.

      You get a bunch of spam links, Google ignores them.

      If you paid for them, that's the negative, you lost money.

      If you did not, there is no negative.

      Whether you believe in MOZ's DA rating is irrelevant, always has be.

      PS Your answer does not even begin to address my post. Perhaps, the question to ask is: What is the original post about?

  • Yes, some people buy this because they think it's going to give them quick results. These are usually from people who don't understand how SEO works. they get frustrated when they hear how much time and work it takes to do SEO properly

    This is generally considered "black hat SEO" for its malevolent nature. An example of a negative SEO service offer in a Reddit thread
  • DABK - The pushback you are getting from some people about negative SEO not working is really the answer to your original question.

    Apparently, there are still enough people who believe it works (even here on Warrior Forum, where they should know better) so yes, people apparently are still wasting their money on it.

    • Seems so. In post 22 above, I gave a link to a Google search that comes up with a lot of people quoting Matt Cutts of Google saying they ignore the type of links negative SEO gets.


      What surprises me the most is that you can so easily check stuff these days, yet so many do not do it.


      And thinking? Why not do it? I mean, how is it not clear that Google cannot not ignore negative SEO? If it took it into account, you could end up with a lot of crappy results on page one (just because they bought 5000000 piss-poor backlinks to the better competitors). And that would get people not to trust Google, and that would get Google to lose money. Is it not clear that Google wants the money?

  • It's just fake people , who don't know SEO or what SEO procedures are, will go for this kind of offer. They can do anything for money.. Please be aware of such kinds of people.

      You might as well buy yourself a couple of hotdogs, call eating them marketing. At least you get something out of it.

    I think the company is in new in the market as you can say beginner, and you are not doing negative work its not blackhat process, you have to create only back link also this is not negative work. cool it your mind and do your work freely.
