Hello Warriors

I want to understand the targeting of keywords and how to perform this with local SEO. I will give an example.

Let's take the example: fast food
Now the fast food joint is in Toronto let's say, but targeting fast food Toronto doesn't get searches let us say but people in toronto are searching for fast food. How do I perform SEO to make sure this fast food joint in toronto ranks. Fast food obviously would be too high a term to rank and pointless for all places.

There is a lot of questions to this. Do I focus on fast food still as a KW? Do I focus for fast food Toronto? How can I do it so I can do SEO that I can promote a fast food store in Toronto, and one in Florida that both are doing fast food and both places people search fast food not fast food toronto or fast food florida.

Also how does Google deal with this?

When targeting keywords for local SEO, it's important to consider the following:

Keyword intent: What are people searching for when they type in a particular keyword? Are they looking for general information about fast food, or are they specifically looking for a fast food restaurant in Toronto?
Search volume: How many people are searching for a particular keyword each month? This will help you determine how competitive the keyword is and how much traffic you can expect to receive if you rank for it.
Local competition: How many other fast food restaurants in Toronto are targeting the same keywords? This will also affect your chances of ranking.
Targeting the keyword "fast food" for a local fast food restaurant in Toronto

If the keyword "fast food" is too competitive for your fast food restaurant in Toronto, you can still target it by using local modifiers. For example, you could target keywords like:

    "fast food near me"
    "best fast food in Toronto"
"fast food open late in Toronto"
    "fast food delivery in Toronto"

You can also use long-tail keywords, which are more specific and less competitive. For example, you could target keywords like:

    "vegetarian fast food in Toronto"
    "healthy fast food in Toronto"
    "affordable fast food in Toronto"
"fast food for kids in Toronto"

Promoting fast food restaurants in Toronto and Florida

To promote your fast food restaurants in Toronto and Florida, you can target the same keywords that you would for a single restaurant, but you can also use location-specific modifiers. For example, you could target keywords like:

    "fast food Toronto"
    "best fast food Florida"
    "fast food open late Toronto"
    "fast food delivery Florida"

You can also use long-tail keywords that are specific to each location. For example, you could target keywords like:

    "vegan fast food Toronto"
    "keto fast food Florida"
"sports bar with fast food Toronto"
    "family-friendly fast food Florida"

How Google deals with local SEO

Google uses a variety of factors to determine the ranking of local businesses in search results. These factors include:

Local relevance: Google considers how relevant your website is to the location that people are searching for. This includes factors such as your business address, phone number, and NAP (name, address, and phone number) citations.
Quality of your website: Google also considers the quality of your website, including your content, mobile-friendliness, and backlinks.
Reviews: Google considers the number and quality of reviews that your business has received.

When you target local keywords, you're essentially telling Google that your business is relevant to the location that people are searching for. This can help you improve your local ranking and visibility in search results.
