I just launched a new website and have content for around 500 keyword relevant articles (from previous newsletters). I started to upload them onto the site and they are now getting indexed on Google within an hour of posting - so I'm happy with that.

I begun linking to my site via contributions to forums etc and posted 150 articles onto my site when I started to doubt my strategy and began to wonder if was I doing the right thing.

I have analysed the site that ranks #1 on google for the keywords I would like to rank for and they have 800 backlinks to their domain and 400 backlinks to the page that ranks #1 on google.

95% of the links come from 21 domains they own - hosted on 2 different IP's. The pages are not relevant to the keywords they are ranking for - they are about random stuff and just have a link to the site in the footer.

It made me wonder if I should be putting my content on another domain and linking back to my site - instead of putting the content directly on my site??

Not sure if I should continue to put the articles onto my site, post them to directories, set up other domains to link back to my site, post onto forums etc. It gets a bit overwhelming with all the options

I've decided I need to make a plan forthe next 60 days and stick to it.

What do you guys - who have done this type of thing before - think would be a good solid strategy I can follow to get myself up to the top spot?

You could write two versions of each article - one for your site and one to submit and link back to the version on your site.
