Zero backlinks from StumbleUpon

I use the stumbleupon toolbar and have something like 180 stumbles over about 15 domains for the past few months. I just went to several online backlink checkers and none of them show stumble; a few of my sites show one digg, but no stumble or other sb site. I'm surprised because I thought stumble was one of the major bookmark sites.

Generally speaking, I have found very little bang for the buck with stumbleupon or other bookmarking sites. I do occasionally have a bunch of stumbles to my site, but it is rare and unpredictable.

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

My experience is the same. I have done large amounts of bookmarking both myself (bookmarking demon) and through various WSOs here, and I rarely if ever show bookmarks as backlinks.

Stumbleupon won't give you backlinks directly, but it will put your page in front of more people who may link you. So it can increase your backlinks for sure.

Social Bookmarking DOES help in terms of backlinking but I have had the same exact experience with Stubleupon.

Stumble Upon won't give you back links. It's a bookmarking tool to expand the juice in the links you have.

Sure you can see no-follow backlinks listed in the backlink search databases.

The one and the important tip according my SEO experience is that you should have the quality back link, If you are having the quality back link certainly its more beneficial for you. If you have the quality and informative post at the stumble upon certainly you will have the visits and no matter you have the organic search from that post.

I have had very little success with StumbleUpon in the past. I stopped using that service a long time ago.

Digg is about the only SB backlinks I see anymore... others come and go.

Stumbleupon is great for certain types of traffic. The people who use the toolbar are surfers, not your usual web user. They will look at anything they think is cool and interesting. If you have the right type of content it will give you direct traffic.

Please don't re-post misinformation from other threads. Seriously. Regurgitating info to increase post count is idiotic.

only rely on stumble for traffic

youll never know when youd get that spike.

Ive had success with it depending on the quality of the site.

What I submit now might bring me unlimited amounts of traffic 4 months from now.

if u want backlinks, use mixx and the other bookmarking sites

I haven't had much success with either. If anyone has tips on how to make either one effective, that would be great!
