Lead Capture Page Rates

O.K. Here is something that is NEVER discussed openly and I really have no idea why. I am wondering what lead capture rates fall into the following categories. NOW BEFORE you continue ... I am talking about simple landing pages with an e-mail capture only not a sales page.
Poor - XX %
Average - XX %
Good - XX %
Great - XX %
You do not have to give me your example page if you want to hoard your secret. I understand that entirely. I am just trying to see where I should be. I am at 10% with 3 campaign trials and I know that has to be way too low .. I also know some of the reasons why and will be writing up some new pages and including split testing throughout the day. However, I want to know what percentage I should be aiming for. Some bounce rate has to be accepted but what is acceptable.
I also realize this varies industry to industry somewhat - I am looking for a general idea but please feel free to get into the dynamics of different percentages in different markets if you want to write an in depth reply.
