Backlinking an Authority Website

Ok Im trying to make an authority site, and was looking for some tips on the best ways to build backlinks to it. Should i build a link wheel around each page, or just try to drive as many links as possible to the site over time?

I would outsource my link building to someone in india or pakistan, but to tell you the truth, those links dont hold up. I ran a link building campaign like 5 months ago for two sites, paid someone to do the link building, and none of the links that were pointing to my site are there anymore. I want long lasting links that will not be deleted. Thanks.

To build and sustain a long-term authority site, submit high quality articles to directories with a good PR...ezine articles in particular.

Sure, you can try some of the latest tricks and whiz-bang fads that come along...but as you've discovered, the honeymoon doesn't last long with those types of links.

Submit a high quality article or two per day to the directory of your choice.

And of course, keep building content on your own virtual property as well.
