Using Video Sharing Sites for SEO/Backlink Building?

Hi All,

Is there any real SEO benefit to posting video articles on the various video sharing sites (YouTube, Veoh, MetaCafe, etc.)? I started generating and distributing videos with Article Video Robot recently. However, I don't see a way to link the video back to my website.

Are videos only good for direct traffic generation - people who would type my site's URL into their browsers? If anyone has significant experience with posting videos would you please let me know how to make the best use of them for backlinks/SEO?

    From my experience using GFX article video writer and Videobot it is a huge waste of time in terms of SEO. I have never seen any links show up except from Metacafe and Youtube.

    Yes they are good for traffic generation and I look to get more into Video Marketing in the near future for this very reason.

    As the above poster has mention I think they are very good for campaigns where you are attempting to dominate the entire first page for a given keyword. If I am trying to take the first 5 spots for a keyword I will often have a wordpress blog, an Ezine article, a Goarticle, and a Youtube or Metacafe Video that I am backlinking all at once.
