WP post automaticly ping to 200 sites. Good or Not for SEO?

Hello warriors,

I have a question about WP ping plugin.

I installed a Wordpress ping plugin on one of my site, and it can automaticly ping my new post to more than 200 sites. At first, I think it's good for SEO, but I then read a post said that if a new post on a website is pinged to too many sites just after the post show up on the website, it will raise a flag for google, so in fact it's dangerous for your site, not good for your site.

How do you think about it?

Any input are appreciated.

Much thanks.

To avoid overpinging (that is, pinging every time you
make a little update/edit to a page), use
    MaxBlogPress Ping Optimizer

    It's free.

Thanks Gary, I am talking about this plugin, but I manually add more than 200 sites to its ping site list.

So is it good to ping that many sites or just ping to one site?

There are NOT 200 sites to "ping" to. If your list is that big, something is wrong.

Pingomatic, by itself, will ping all the active sites without duplication.

My Ping List currently has about 20 sites on it.
I got it from Jack Humphrey's Black Book.

As to there not being 200 sites to ping to, Sick Profile Maker's ping utility comes loaded with 59. I'd say that is more than enough, but am sure there probably are 200 out there.
