EDIT: Since people aren't really interested in answering the original question, there's really no point in leaving this post the way it was.

Have a great day, everybody!

  • Where these site add-on domains in the same hosting account? If Google finds one, it finds all sites in this account.

Yes, most were add-on domains, but not all of them. What is the mechanism by which Google finds all the sites from one account?

      Cheers,

I don't think backlinks are essential in getting listed, but they certainly help.

May be you are right, we dont need a backlinks to get index,
But.... most of us need a lot & quality backlinks to get into the first page in google.

I am the first to agree with you on this one

Of course, there is no question about the necessity of backlinks to help with ranking. However, I was hoping to get some info and discussion going about the indexing process.

      Cheers,

Just wanted to briefly mention something I get asked a lot by costumers and subscribers, and share my experiences.

Some folks are under the impression that you need backlinks to get your site indexed & that it can't be done without link building. Note that we are not talking about inner pages that sometimes cannot be found without direct backlinks to them.

The last 20 minisites that I have built have been indexed by Google without any backlinks, most of them within 7-10 days. The curious thing is that the domains registered at Namecheap get indexed within 5-7 days of setting up hosting, while those registered with Godaddy go to about 10-12 days.

I would be very interested in your insights about how exactly do search engine find and index these sites? Does it have something to do with the host or domain registration company?

    Thanks for your input,

    Josip
Yes. But 7 to 10 days for indexing is a very long time. With a few backlinks and an EMD you can get indexed in less than 24 hours and be showing up on the first page right off the bat. It depends on the market and your on-page seo. But if you work a bit harder to get indexed with the right EMD you can be making money in 24 hours.

All you've said is true. I have almost 200 EMD's to prove it.

By the questions I've been getting lately, a lot of people are anxious about getting indexed and it takes them a week or two even when they get some backlinks.

I am the first one to say that backlinks are great, that you should get indexed as fast as you can and all that...what I wanted to say with the initial post is that Google can index a site without backlinks & see if anyone can share the mechanism of how that happens.

      All the best,

      Josip

My best guess would be that it is a result of sites that record domain registration and in doing so usually include a link to the domain. I always see a few sites showing up when I do a "mysiteurl" search that show the date I registered the domain with a link to it. That's how I thought Google found sites without me making backlinks.

Yeah, I thought this as well, but in some cases I can't find any of those sites indexed, so it remains a mystery.

Honestly, from a Internet Marketing perspective, the objective is to get the site built, SEOd, launched, quickly indexed and quickly ranked for the targeted keywords and then...

        wait for it...

Agreed, but I personally couldn't care less about how fast my sites get indexed. All I wanted to accomplish with this thread is share one fact and ask one question.

        wait for it...

        Rinse and repeat!

As far as Google indexing a site without any backlinks, who cares?

I can guarantee no smart IMer is going to wait around to find how. Why would we want to know? Any site I or my team builds automatically gets put on IM blitzburg right out the gate and from that moment on there is no looking back. At that point forward; it's all attack mode!

We want the first page on the SERPs and the first, second, third, forth and fitth slots and we want them NOW!

    What CMS are you using?

I find that my mini-sites get indexed very quickly without backlinking - but that is because I use wordpress, including the XML site map plugin which submits the sitemap to Google for me, obviously encouraging it to crawl my site.

I use Wordpress for most of them, so there's the pinging and the sitemap to consider, but some of these sites that get indexed are static HTML sites - and I usually put up an UNDER CONSTRUCTION page that gets indexed.
