Backlinks and Amazon Product Ranking

Does anyone know if Amazon products, on Amazon, are affected by backlinks?

That is, if you were to create tons of backlinks to a specific book, will that book rank higher in Amazon searches and/or in google search?

    I'm not sure if we mean the same thing.

    I'm asking if backlinks will help a book IN the Amazon website. So, for example, let's say I have book Z listed in Amazon. I then create links back to the Amazon page where you would find book Z. Will these backlinks help book Z to be found WITHIN Amazon and/or in a natural google search?

    Yes, they are.
    I remember that Terry Kyle mentioned that he is backlinking page of his book 'Small Business Ideas: 400 Latest & Greatest Small Business Idea'
    Just google 'Small Business Ideas', and the Amazon page will come up in Top3.

    They sure will.

    That is why it is advisable to NOT have the keyword in anchor text linking to Amazon from your website. It only pushes the Amazon page further up the serps.

    Most times I use the stock standard "click here" anchor text

    All websites or web pages are affected with rankings. But it doesn't affect much on authority sites like Amazon, Wikipedia and etc.
