Anyone seen a change in the 728 x 90 AdSense Leaderboard text ad?

Guys, I have the 728 x 90 AdSense block (text) at the top of all my niche sites. Recently they went from being 4 or 5 block-shaped ads to 3 horizontal sentence-looking ads, like this:
Ad Title 1 - sample text.... URL
Ad Title 2 - sample text.... URL
Ad Title 3 - sample text.... URL
Hope this makes sense. My gut tells me that the former layout would perform better. Anyway, does anybody know what's up? Thanks in advance.
