I have been having the worst 5 days of adsense in two years. I was wondering if it was just me or across the board. I did find a thread on digital point where alot of people are saying the same thing.

Hows everyone here doing with their earnings?

I've noticed a decrease, but with Halloween and the election I'm not worried. If it goes on for a few weeks, well then maybe ...

For me it came on sudden. Who knows i hope its from the election and everything.

Although Google did send out that email to publishers last week pledging to help us stay profitable, thats kind of odd to do right before alot of people see earnings slide?

Are you getting the same amount of daily traffic?

      + A question
How would recession etc effect people clicking adsense ads, if the people didnt know that you were profiting from the clicks?

The recession would effect us because adsense depends on adwords advertisers.... less people advertising on adwords means less ads showing on your site meaning some of the best most "clickable" ads won't be showing... as well as adwords advertisers bidding much lower on their keywords causing the payout on the backend to also decrease.

          oh yea, that i knew....

a)but would the recession affect the amount of clicks people click on the ads/ click volume?

          b) and/or has this click amount changed in the past in strange patterns? or do they change now and then, which is the nature of adsense clicks?

Mine has been up and down. On the average, I am still more or less maintaining that profit per month basis. In fact when the adsense earnings diid go down on a particular day, it was normally compensated with some affilaites earnings. So it balance

Yeah captivereef, my adsense earnings have dropped to about a quarter of their usual income over the past week or so. Strange times indeed...

Good job I don't rely on them too heavily!

I have around 20 sites, my traffic has been steady but my earnings and CTR went down. I think the election maybe contributing as well. Time will tell.

I made $9 yesterday compared to my normal $25-$30 per day!

I think now is my time to move into another income stream.

Yeah I bet it's just a fluke... but can you imagine how much your earnings would be if you built up 20 more sites promoting nothing but affiliate products?

      [quote=captivereef;225501]I have around 20 sites

Hi, I have to ask, how do you manage 20 sites? I have 2 and they take up all my time with keeping good content and weekly newsletters etc. Is your income from all 20 sites combined, or each? Not being nosey, just trying to learn strategies to make my own adsense income kick in.

my earnings per click are down 32%. It will turn around but it happened at a bad time for me personally. Oh well I have not stopped promoting my sites and will keep on doing what works.

My only fear is that because of a slow down Google goes through and guts the Adsense program to satisfy advertisers.

Thats my plan, everything happens for a reason and maybe its time for me to diversify.

Heading towards a recession/in a recession would have something to do with it.

This is gonna have a big impact on everything.

Wow, I just logged in so I could ask this VERY question and this post is what I saw at the top of the topics.

I've seen a dramatic drop in earnings per click while maintaining the same or more traffic.

I'd love to diversify into affiliate sales, but I've never been able to make it work on my blogs.

Glad to know I'm not the only one on the Google issue. I was worried I was getting some sort of Google smack down.

I have bidvertiser on one site and the ads are terrible and the CTR is horrible!

20 sites is easy, ust build them up lowly over time the write and article or two a month for each site to keep it building links and traffic.

Captivereef -- My earnings did dip over the last week, but they are back up today (unless it's just a fluke). My traffic was lower along with the decrease in adsense earning which sounds different from what you were experiencing.

I would expect lower adsense payouts if advertising declines due to the tough economy. But it should really depend on what markets you've entered.

If you've already built 20 sites that are getting search traffic can't you go out and find affiliate programs based on those markets? You'll lose momentum if you start over so it would be nice to add what you've already built if you're thinking of moving away from adsense.

I see a decrease on two of my mini niche websites on both traffic & CTR.

I don't see the decrease on my articles sites but I think it might be because of the sources of the traffic which are different. The articles sites get most of their traffic from referrals and social sites. Even the search engine traffic increased.

It does look like something is going on there.

    No way of any violation.
If there was a violation then the account or specific site was banned or eliminated from the program. It is just the fluctuation of Adsense and perhaps the impact of the financial crisis.

finished just over $6 yesterday, i have not had earnings this low in almost two years!!!

I did start promoting a clickbank product and sold one yesterday so that helped! Hopefully I can sell 2 a day and get my earnings back to where they need to be

My Adsense earnings have held up during the past week, there was only a slight dip on election day. However a the same, my affiliate earnings totally collapsed (I promote physical products).

This seems to imply that businesses are still spending money on advertising even though sales have deteriorated markedly. My hunch is that this will not hold up and it is a matter of time before businesses are forced to cut adverstising. Right now, it seems that they want to get as much sales as possible before Christmas.
