Keyword Reasearch - This will make or break me

Hey warriors,

So I am starting a unique type of seo and i found a keyword im targeting. So naturally i checked google keyword tool (which i know isnt exactly right) to see the search volume for the keyword. The keyword gets over 300k a month under broad matches.

Then under exact matches the same keyword gets about 14k, and around 110k in "phrase"

So from other warriors experiences, i was wonder what should i expect out of this keyword term. Lets ball park the search volume, should i expect search volume numbers even close to 300k?

Thanks for reading!

Although 100K is not close, if you get this figure then I could say you are one hell a lucky fellow... keep going..

I usually set an average expectation of about a third of the exact match searches will actually click through to your site if you are at number #1.

So if exact match is 14K/mo, i'd expect about 4,600 unique visitors/month for this keyword.

    Good luck with it.

some consider Exact and some Phrase. But it's better to go with Phrase because it includes others terms in the keyword. All the best for your process and implementation.

I'd rather go for exact. It gives you a precise goal and measurement of just how much traffic you will get rather than a ballpark estimate based on phrase matches and what not.

I was trying to rank for a keyword that got 3600 Exact searches per month, but broad of about 300,000. At rank 7 or so I'm receiving nearly 150 a day, so i would say at rank 1 expect to receive nearly 60,000 visitors a month. I am hoping to recieve about 2,000 visitors a day by the end of December. Good luck to you!

I have been taught to go with exact as you know directly the traffic volume! Good luck to you!
