Beginning my first project of the new year and thinking about building a link wheel or two.
Anyone have any thoughts, pro or con, about the effectiveness of link wheels?

        Hey guys,
With linkwheels, the most important thing you have to keep in mind is not to leave a footprint. If big G tracks down the linkwheel and sees an all too familiar pattern, then your site can come in for scrutiny.
If you build Web 2.0 properties with links to your site, make sure that all the web properties are linked randomly (sit down with pen and paper and draw a sketch of how you are going to link them) and make sure there is no standard pattern in the linking. It is a good way to avoid a footprint.

This is a good guide to make a link wheel. It's a blog network+articles+web 2.0 profiles.

      Thanks

If you are not sure of what a link wheel is then here goes. A link wheel is a set of popular online properties that are linked together in a strategic way that maximises the impact on the rankings of the main website. I build my link wheels in a way that all other sites would link in a wheel effect and link to my main site from each. I would never link back to these web 2.0 sites from my main site to ensure one way linking across the whole network.

LinkWheels have become very popular over the past few months because of their ability to generate instant rankings for your website. LinkWheels enable a business to occupy several spots on the top of Google's Search Engine Results Page (SERPs).

    Hi friends
I think today link wheel is the buzzword in website link building industry. This is one of the best ways of building links in the most natural way and Google will love your website just for that. Link wheel is certainly the most powerful way of making use of the power of multiplication to build links for your website.

A link wheel is the process of creating 12 or so (or sometimes up to 116) new blogs/microsites on a particular topic. On each of those sites, you write 200 words of unique content, and include 1 link to your targeted site, and 1 link to one of your other blogs/microsites.

It does help you but you need to combine with other linking method such as article marketing, social booking, blog comment, forum profile...then you will see great results.

Link Wheels are highly effective as far as Google do not catches your wheel. So you have to take a strategy of making wheel that is without any specific pattern. My strategy is building all the wheels for a blog post or squidoo lens and pointing only one link from there to my main site.

Its not just only the link wheel method that everyone use, but on how they are going to execute the links between the sites that google never track something.

Link wheel can be very effective and many have seen improvement in rankings however I personally think they aren't really such a big deal. AFter all they take a lot of work and the time and resources can be used better else where.

Personally what I'd do is a variety of tactics with linkwheel as part of the strategy. They give you quality links but they can be very time consuming and costly.

I prefer to use UAW, SEO Link Vine, MAN, AMA submissions along aside with some profile links, directory submissions, social bookmarks because these generally give you a bigger bang for your buck as compared to link wheels where you might get 10 links.

      hi all,

I am experienced in linkwheel as I have been working on it for my clients. i guess all of you are aware of the impact of linkwheel for SEO as this is one of the backlink building strategies that can help building backlinks to your sites and increase the traffic input.

I was browsing on the net today and came across an article stating link wheels are now dead, so I through I should write a little bit about the subject.
So, are link wheels dead? In short the answer is NO!

The traditional style link wheels (only made with web 2.0 sites and closed) however have lost a bit of there original power. This is why we updated our link wheels to include article submissions, blog posts, web 2.0 properties and a Youtube video. We also create a series of smaller wheels each with a break

Using our new strategy with a combination of properties, multiple smaller wheels and breaks guarantees you the ultimate natural link building pattern. This pattern is undetectable and will never “die”.

The link wheel concept is certainly not dead, it just needed to evolve!
If you are going to use somebody else’s link wheel services or build a link wheel yourself, we would advise you to use a link wheel strategy similar to ours.

I am getting very interested with link wheels and i will definitely give this a try - though this will be very time consuming.

One question though, do we have to use different article on each site - or spun article is okay?

    Thanks! :-)

unique articles always work better but if your just going for backlinks and nothing more the spun should work decently

    Here's a basic explanation:

    1. Pick 10 sites in a niche relatively similar
    2. Choose the highest paying site as the recipient of all the links (the axle of the wheel)
    3. Link each site to the next in a wheel type pattern
    4. Additionally, link each site back to that highest paying site (the axle of the wheel)

    In other words:

    A links to B & J, B links to C & J, C links to D & J, D links to E & J...etc until you complete the wheel (10 sites i.e. with the 10th being in the middle of the "axle" of the wheel).

It's actually quite simple, as long as you get it right : )

  • Link wheel is an interrelated network of content pages that are established on popular Web 2.0 sites like Squidoo, Blogspot, Hub Pages, WordPress, etc. Each of these content pages link to the main website, which acts like a hub wheel where all of the web 2.0 blogs link with. The technique is being widely recognized by different SEO professionals as it helps generate instant ranking for the website.
