Is there anything comparable to Scrapebox for Mac?

Hey Warriors,

I am a mac user and I love it, I used to be a linux guy but I love my MacBook Pro, but one thing I keep running into is that a lot of the best IM and SEO tools will only run on Winblows. . ..

I was hoping that someone out there could point me to something similar to scrapebox that will work on my mac.

I know I could run windows in a VM or Parallels, but I don't own a copy of Windows and I don't want to pay Microsoft one red cent for their bloatware crappy OS. (sorry to windows lovers, but I can't stand windows!)

Any advice on scrapeboxing on a mac would be greeaaaatly appreciated!

  • Honestly with the amount of internet this tool can eat up you are better off getting a windows server than running it from your own PC.

You can pick them up for as little as $50+ a month (volumedrive sells reasonable ones).

    • Use VMware. You can run any windows apps on a mac with that. I have a friend thats constantly running 3 instances of SB on his mac.

    • You're right about the amount of bandwidth SB eats. But $50 a month? That seems extraordinarily high unless you're running a bunch of instances at once. The $9 plan over @ websiteserviceplus.com is more than enough to handle Scrapebox.

    • Get a VPS and run it off of there. You can get a good enough VPS for $20-35/month to run it.
  • Just run VirtualBox. Screw VMWare and Parallels - they are expensive and crap. VBox is free. That's what I use on my Mac, and it's awesome to be able to run the software up and minimise the VM. And yes you will need Windows to install on it.

I think I'll be switching to a VPS soon though, just like the guys have mentioned.

  • how i wish, id be the first to jump into its beta lol

i dont need it for comments, just for the other functions it does

i hate running vm/parallels so i prefer using a dedicated server, download CORD and you can easily connect to them and run scrapebox but id still prefer using an app on the mac directly though
  • To the original poster yes, you can definitely run it on a VPS
The reason why many of the business tools are restricted to Windows is because Windows has been well regarded as the leader in business solutions as where Mac is more focused on a more broad market of consumers. Windows tends to focus on technology then user interface where Mac focuses on user interface and then technology on the backend.
  • I also believe VPS is the proper solution of your problem. There have so many VPS service provider. You may get any service spending around $10 to $35 per month.
  • I recently gave BermanHosting.com - Exceedingly Good Hosting Solutions a try and they're fantastic.

A lot faster than my previous VPS, too.
