Ok, I think it's very important to ping your backlinks, as I tested myself and it works much better than doing nothing with them and let google naturally index them.

So,what tool do you use to ping your backlinks?
#backlinks #ping

You can use online "tools", such as pingoat.com, pingomatic.com, pingler.com... or you can use several plugins for WP that will ping your articles, post etc automatically.

pingomatic is the one i prefer.

but better ones available if you have a list of links to ping at once

I use scrapebox for pinging but to make sure my backlinks get indexed I create a rss feed containing a batch of 50 items(sites/properties) that I have my one-way backlinks on and submit it to rss directories and then I link to the rss directory page from my indexing blogs to make sure the rss feed gets indexed.

This way all my links get indexed.

Not true. At most Google will only crawl one or two links inside a RSS feed. Usually it'll crawl zero links into a feed. It just doesn't see the feed as valuable so it doesn't go any further. The only way to try and fix this is to either ping the links individually or building links to your RSS feeds to make them seem more important to G.

My source is building the Linklicious service. We initially thought what you said was correct, but as we tracked crawls we found that it is just flat misinformation. In theory it's great but in practice Google just doesn't care about the interior links. This was tested against hundreds of thousands of RSS feeds across a couple of months so it's truth.

I disagree. That sounds like normal Googlebot behavior to me. Forget about RSS for a minute and lets talk a regular site. How often do they crawl all the links on a single page all at one time? They don't usually. They may crawl half a dozen links or less and come back again later for more.

So why would you expect them to crawl all those RSS links in one shot when they don't even normally do that on regular sites.

I have seen people using this technique to get thousands of backlinks indexed and rank #1 in highly competitive niches.

But this is just my opinion and we are both entitled to our own

I host it myself. I use feedforall to create the feed and host it on a site I have created just to host my rss feeds.

if you don't want to pink a link too often

      how do you keep Track?

      Maybe a general "periodic" ping?
if in fact you are putting new content in on a regular basis?

maybe pinging at time intervals, or you'd loose track ?
      am I missing the logic?
