    That would be situational IMO depending on how saturated the market is for your keyword(s) etc.

    Generally speaking, looking at the importance that Google has started paying to LSI keywords, I try to pick niches where I can pick out multiple keywords which include and revolve around my main keyword.

    Makes it easier to rank your website in the long run...
