Opinions please Banner Vs Text Ads

I plan to do some advertising on some related blogs using "BuySellAds .com"

I am faced with deciding to purchase a $25 - $30 banner advertisement 125X125 or in some cases a little bigger.

or I direct email the owner of the blog inquiring about a "Text Link" located in the sidebar or footer.. Sometimes known as the blogroll or Our Friends. This is also $25 - $30 /per month

These are high PR websites. PR5 and up.

So which is better anchor text link or banner ad in your opinion?

    It all depends on your site design, ad placement, content, niche ,etc. There is no common rule to say text link or banner is the best. They both exist because they both work well depending on those things.

    Do some experiments placing anchor text link and banner ad on different days and evaluate which works well, you will find the best one!!!

      you got it... my thinking is that in some way the anchor text link will work in a small way "link value" and increase my search ranking.
