Getting on page #1

Hi all,

I have a blog with a exact match keyword for 8100 search count.

The website is about entertainment and has lots of videos from youtube using tubepress.

it also has autoposting of amazon products, adsense installed, free ebook popup that tends to convert not bad.

However I just did this to see how it works, but I cannot get to page #1 for my exact keyword. I don't plan to do any article writing for this website.

Any suggestion on how to get to page #1 and spot#1?

    You may want to start with understanding that if you're doing anything that automatically publishes content, big brother frowns upon that. That isn't to say they'll torch you, but they tend to not give you wonderful gifts to people who aren't legitimately posting quality original information.

    Secondly, Adsense is a good thing, I guess. But if it's everywhere, and the site looks "dirty," people will hit the good old back button, which registers with G and is a "signal" or sorts.

    I'm assuming you're building links right? If you are, try friendship SEO: The kind of SEO that sticks. Go deliberately build connections with people doing the same thing you're doing. Start commenting out there in the blogosphere, get people knowing who the heck you are.

    Be genuinely nice to people and SHOW YOUR FACE MORE. The internet marketing world is filled with people who use automation as an excuse to dehumanize business. Not a long term perspective strategy.

    Lastly, even though we all know about this, GUEST POST. I can't tell you how much benefit it has to guest post for highly trafficked websites.

      Many thanks for your reply!

      The problem is that I am not knowledgeable in that niche, at all! I know it's not a good idea to pick that kind of niche but i found the domain and the volume of search to be tempting!

      The only autopost is for the amazon products, is that bad?
      Are the youtube videos considered autopost?

      There is definitely not much adsense. I was more trying to a list in that market with the free ebook.

    If your blog is on Wordpress (or any other platform for that matter) I would work very hard on interlinking the inner pages of your site together. In addition, make sure to post content to web 2.0 sites with links back to your website, as this will boost your rankings substantially.

      Getting to page #1 is not difficult, if you know what you are up against.

      These are the steps I go through :

      1. Find out who is on page 1

      2. Find out how many backlinks each of the top 10 listings have

      2.1. Find out where they are getting there links from and if possible, get links from those locations as well

      3. Find out why they are up there (age, links, content, keyword density etc)

      4. Start building links and plan to have more than those guys in #10 position.
      4.1.5. Write good quality content.

      I know its sounds simplistic and too basic, but thats all you need to do
