Baclinks from Twitter??

Has anyone gotten any dofollow backlinks from twitter? I mean placing your url in the status and tweeting it out???

You won't be able to get "do follow" backlinks from Twitter. There are tons of places and ways to get backlinks, but Twitter is best used for other purposes. Use it to grow a following and keep them updated on the newest additions to your site as well as sharing other links and resources you think they'd like.

I don't think twitter can provide backlink, as far as I know this site is good source of traffic.

When you set up a Twitter profile, you have the opportunity to create a link to your website in your profile. I'm not sure if it is dofollow.

You can definitely get some backlinks from twitter, they aren't great ones though. They are better for traffic, lead generation, brand awareness, support networking, etc.

No, you can't able to get the do-follow link from Twitter. But you can use your links here in a way that it get listed in Google realtime feature for your search query.

Put the URL of your site in the profile of yours under the WEBSITE. You can't use twitter to make hundreds of backlinks but it can be useful for promoting sites, articles, etc. If you want backlinks try to sign up on thousands of forums available online.

But twitter may be used as a great source of traffic as well.

Twitter is not a link resource site where from you can get back links. It's only for traffic. yeah, It's right your profile page would be show in search result in Google and May be you share your site in profile massage. but that will be no follow. forget it, Twitter will give you back links.

Twitter is a social networking site this will improve your referral traffic. you will not get any kind of backlinks from them .

No backlinks, but you have probably noticed that there are all sorts of sites out there indexing Twitter, finding memes etc. etc. and I have seen my backlinks appear on those.

Also, Google is monitoring Twitter in real-time and you can bet it IS a factor for determining current trends, though if you used some artificial method to get retweeted on a large scale it would be pretty weird for your 'meme' to only be big news on Twitter and nowhere else :/
