Pending Delete domain isn't available for backorder?

I've been keeping an eye on a domain that is probably only PR0 or PR1, but it was previously #1 for a decent keyword. It's now in the "pending delete" phase and should be released today or tomorrow. However, for the last couple months it hasn't even shown up as being available for backorder from the usual places. Any idea why?

The whole expiring domains process seems shady as hell.

Most domains will have at least a 2.5 month wait, after they expire.

^yeah, it expired around 80 days ago, that's why it's in the pendingdelete phase.

I just went through that. Not sure why that is with some domains. This is good news for you though. All you need to do is be on the ball and snatch it up. Doubtful anyone is paying attention to it. You' probably know this already but for other readers that might be interested, its usually deleted at 12am GMT on the 6th day from the time it moved to pendingdelete status . (what ever the last updated time is)

Almost all the domain hosting and registration companies keep the domains on hold for
2 to 3 months with them. But in case it is not renewed, it is deleted and which may not be available again for registration.
