    yes! something most people don't know. linking to your subpages helps with your homepage ranking. it's actually better to have a lot of links pointing to the relevant sections of your website.

    Yes, the backlinking of different sub-pages, definitely increase the worth of your domain homepage because all the pages of a website are interlinked having internal navigation links so PR of other pages adds into the worth of your homepage.

    I agree with everyone else. It definitely helps. Throwing links just to your homepage doesn't look natural.

    I try to optimize each sub-page for a specific keyword phrase and create backlinks as I would with the homepage. (I don't have huge sites, so this isn't too time consuming.) A lot of times the sub-pages end up ranking pretty well.

    Try to use LSI keywords while backlinking...that will also help.

      There is no reason to toss a bunch of links to subpages. Do that
      about 20% of the time. The rest to the main index page.

      There is no such thing as any natural BS.

      You just have to make sure that all pages are dutifully linked from
      the main index page. That's what internal linking does.

      I have many #1's on just internal linking.

      I have no idea why people think they have to backlink to subpages.
      Man, if you have an authority site, a la wikipedia, how the he## are
      you going to backlink to a brazillian number of pages?!?!?!?!?!
