Do you consider THIS a buying keyword?

Hey all,

Just wondering if you consider the "home remedy" and "home remedies" to be buying keywords?

If so, what is the best way to go about converting them into people that buy?

Let me know if you know any good WSOs for conversions on these type of sites, not just copy writing.

With sites based upon home remedies and such, what approach should I take to get them to take action and buy? I am just stuck and don't know what to do.

I would truly love your ideas and help!

Thanks,
Andrew

No, those are NOT buying keywords (assuming that by "buying" you mean people searching for those keywords with the intention to buy).

There are two reasons for this:

    1. Home remedies are by definition "made at home", DIY. So, you can reasonably assume that a large percentage of people searching for home remedies are looking for recipes. And, they don't necessarily have their credit card out, ready to buy.

    2. Remedies for what? Even if some of those people looking for "home remedies" are willing to pay for the recipes or ready-made products, they all will have a different problem to solve. Some will have back pain, others will have headaches, yet others will have acne, etc. Unless you qualify your leads beforehand, a huge percentage of ready-to-buy customers will turn away disappointed.

    Hope this helps!

100% Agree. These are not buying keywords.

Now, if you can drill down to something like "home remedies for depression" and then match it up with actual home remedies then you might have a go at it.

      Cheers,

As these type of keywords are "problem related" keywords , there is a big potential to make money . Because , people want to get rid of problems .

The best way to convert these kind of keywords is to build a list , teach your prospects thorough successive email messages . pre-sell and promote variety of home remedy products ( including information products like ebooks) .

I have a site that ranks #1 for keyword remedy and keyword remedies and never made a sale in a year. I then changed the site to gather opt ins and do get sales from time to time but it is not worth the effort and I would never repeat this again.

BTW the search volume and traffic isn't bad but front end sales, NO.

These types of keywords may work well for CPA offers. That would be the way I'd go.

Snoring is a great keyword that people often hunt out home remedies for.

There are some great offers for cpa related to snoring.

      Just a thought

I have some sites which could be considered in the "home remedy" niche, and the products convert VERY well. Just saying...

      This ^^.

Truth is: home remedies CAN BE a very interesting market. More and more people want natural products.

somebody searching for "home remedy" might wind up buying. But buying keywords are stronger and more specific. If somebody searches for something with the keywords-
    - buy, buying, order, sale, best price, cost, discount, review, rebate
    - or the name of the product with a store name, like sony xxx laptop Best Buy
    - or the name of the product and a city
    - or the name of the product and actual model numbers

those would be the type of keywords that would be a strong indicator of buyer intent - meaning that they have their credit card out and are ready to buy!

personally i think the whole "buying keyword" idea is making people miss out on thousands of untapped niches.

a buying keyword just creates more competition because that's what all the marketers have been told to do.

the word like home remedy can be a wonderful word because its cheaper and you can build a huge list fast.

i would run it like this:

    1. get people to opt in for a report
    2. have cpa offers on the thank you page
    3. follow up and learn about your subscribers
    4. send them stuff that interests them
    5. promote products based on their interest

there are tons of cpa offers that pay for downloads, free trials, samples, ect related to this niche. just "flip the market" into buyers.

if you like this approach i have webinars almost every week on these topics.

It's not the niche. It's a great niche. It's the keywords. It's a broad niche keyword that doesn't mean much.

Who is searching for "home remedy"? My guess (cus I'm too lazy to look it up) is not many. Home Remedy is far to vague where How To Fix A Leaking Faucet is a specific home remedy that people are searching for.

So, to hit gold, fill in the blank. Home Remedy To Fix/Clean/Make ( etc... ) _____________
