So I see Panda killed many good backlink methods including Profile links. What are the new strategies that are replacing the old methods?

    1. Tiered backlinks;
Spammy backlinks -> Web Properties -> Your money site.

    2. Homepage/blogroll/sitewide backlinks.

Panda only killed methods that were spammy. You can still use the older methods, but make sure they are providing value. Google wants to give searchers the best possible value every time they use their service. Promoting a website using spammy tactics detracts from value. Therefore, it is not allowed.

I agree but I believe google gives the SEO world opportunities to build SEO and a webpage and get ahead like profile links. I also understand that they can take it away at anytime like they did. Yes it maybe spam but the real question is what is the new trick like profiles that is still working.

Honestly I think link diversity is the key. Profiles still work, just to a lesser extent.

I agree, diversity is the key. I really didn't see any effect from the update, maybe I will next time, who knows. I think if you spread your links out over different methods and try to add a little real value you'll be alright. But we'll see, I could get hammered next time around.

Panda didn't change a single thing unless you own EZA, & a few others that had manual SERP edits.

    Do you own EZA?

It also changed the excuse people give for up, down, and disappearing rankings.

yukon, there's been about 2-3 more mini updates after that big one you're referring to.

You can't just use profile/blog comment links anymore.

Sure you can, If you don't believe the hype.

I don't do articles (EZA, etc...), my sites havn't danced any more than they did this time last year.

The problem isn't profile/blog links (never was), the problem is one guy yells fire & everyone else starts to panic, instead of actually opening their own eyes & looking around to see nothing is wrong.

I think part of the real issue is how does one handle seo for 200 plus keywords?

Create 200 pages, one page per keyword. Plenty of internal linking with anchor-text pointing at relevant pages. Rank a few of the best pages with authority backlinks.

    Google made straight its rules.

Though the game has taken a new turn, its still the same game.

All we need to do is change the pace.
