Yahoo search explorer reporting 1/3 backlinks

Can anyone confirm that yahoo search explorer is showing incorrect backlink totals? I mean, this has been going on for over 2 weeks. Suddenly i have 67 backlinks showing up usually 500 show.

Iv tried using various backlink services. Those report 0 backlinks to my domains so something has to be amiss.

Checked all my domains and the story is the same. Every one of them are showing 1/3 the normal backlink count.

    This has happened from time to time to me also. Search explorer is rarely accurate. Now, I use MajesticSEO instead.

      Right, but so many search tools, online services, even SEO Quake use their services. I cant stand that Majestic SEO service. JUST GIVE me something easy to look at without forcing me to buy yet another service.

    I heard that Yahoo Site Explorer is in the process of being discontinued, so it's probably not a trust-worthy way to check backlinks going forward.

    Yea, Yahoo's is pretty unreliable.

    Hey guys, I've noticed this too - nearly half of the backlinks to most of my clients sites seem to have dissappeared according to Yahoo and any tool that uses Yahoo to provide backlink data.

    I wouldn't worry too much though, this has happened before, infact it always happens a few times each year - it generally means Yahoo are doing a major update to their index, possibly making a few changes too. Give it a few days and the siteexplorer figures will likely return to normal.. (fingers crossed!)

    ..and yeah, I'm no fan of Majestic SEO either... its just another business model to rinse the SEO and IM community of yet another monthly fee...

    The same happen to me (a posted a new threat about this because I didn't see yours...).

    Yesterday I had 215 BL... and today I have 105!
