Links From Social Bookmarking Question

I am in the real estate niche, and unsure if it is a waste of time for me to do social bookmarking.

I am not ranking at all, have no links and it is a new website and wondering how social bookmarking can help me:

1) need clarification why people submit to social bookmark sites and when should they submit and when they should not submit

2) pros and cons of social bookmarking

3) what can be bookmarked do you bookmark a new website and can i submit articles, videos, audios, powerpoint files, etccc

4) can i get traffic even though my website is at the bottom of the barrell and not to be found any where on 1st 100 pages

3) does it really help with offpage seo

    I am a newcomer at here and know that if you want to be rank good so you have to put some uniqueness in your content and sources.There must be some user friendly data with some quality content to increase liking from more users.This will help you to get good PR.

      NO, it's not a waste of time. You can get more backlinks from social bookmarking services. More backlinks = more ranking. Also if you have bookmarked a great or interesting content you can get more traffic.

        waste of time?? how stage still it's more effective way for seo both traffic and ranking factor.Make sure you are doing do follow book marking if yes then need to wait untill your profile page cache by google.

    People use social bookmarks because they are a good (easy) source of links - and if you submit to lots of them this will help you build backlinks from a diverse range of different URLs/IP addresses to your site, which is good for your SERP position. they do help a bit with your off page SEO.

    Each one individually is not of high value, but as part of a more comprehensive backlinking strategy they are effective. Also, with new sites I have found that doing a blast of social bookmarks is a good way to get it indexed fast. Is your site indexed yet?

    You probably will not get much traffic directly from the bookmarks, but they will count as backlinks to your site, which will help your rank in Google/Yahoo/Bing improve.

    I think off page seo is very beneficial if we will use high pr links for social bookmarking or any other off page activity..... & to make big traffic on website then we should do SMO social media optimization via twitter & facebook.

    Social Bookmarking is one of the best method to get traffic as well as quality backlinks.I ll suggest you to target do follow social bookmarking websites.Don't promote your products on bookmarking sites.Don't submit same article again and again on them.Always try to share something like that which can helpful to all readers.

      They submit to social bookmark sites because they want traffic from users of these bookmarking sites. This is also vote a back link to their site, this may not good as anchor link, but it is still useful.

      2) pros and cons of social bookmarking
      Pros: easy, everyone can do
      It will bring traffic if your link have a lot of people votes and comments.
      Cons : it takes some time and boring works. Even you buy a software, but these bookmarking sites often update the code and template, so the software need to update to match with new code.

      You can submit the links to bookmark it . It can be articles, video, audios... but this need a link.

      If your website is useful, interesting and attract the reader, they will visit your site.
      Make the good title is a trick. You go to digg.com, see what raise up and learn the rules .

      3) does it really help with offpage seo
      It helps increase back links to your site and effect to SEO. It works with low competition keywords.

    Well If you want backlinks for your targeted keywords then work with do follow social bookmarking sites and use your keywords in title and it works.If you want traffic then you also can get tons of traffic from social bookmarking sites like digg,stumble upon etc but the content of your site should be useful in this regard and to force people to bookmark your content.

    I am a newbie over here and I came to know after going through this source that Social bookmarking is the best way to keep all the records of the resources that you have already visited so then you can have an idea rather then completely going for it in the deep.
    It can generate the traffic for you if you have relevant source with high PR.So it helps you to maintain and index the resources.
