Google AdNetworks.. Why not just pay your visitors $5 for visiting and call it a day?

Google Adwords, AdMob, and whatever else they come up with...

With huge big prices and low average conversions why do people pay for these networks continually? You might as well give away your money or burn it for warmth. I am not saying dont use the free ad credit they hand you, but good grief...

Anyone else have bad luck with Google and/or other networks?

My Point.. venting.. just venting..

My adwords CPC has gone from an average of $.50 per click to now wanting in excess of $8.00 for the top spots. They have priced me out.

  • Try Yahoo have you ever heard of the Yahoo Slap! (POINT MADE!)

I don't know if you are using one source off online paid media. I would suggest using more - as Dan Kennedy say the worst number in business is 1.

I gave up on Google Adwords years ago. I used to have very profitable keywords and they arbitrarily increased the minimums. So I quit at that time and found other traffic methods with a better cost per lead/sale.

Even if you pay your visitors $5 to come, you still need to let them know you are there somehow.

Without advertising, no one will know that you are giving away the $5 per visitor.

      LOL

      $5 you are crazy!

There are a ton of places to get PPC traffic, and alot cheaper than $5.

You just have to look around, yahoo, and MSN are a good start. While they are not as targeted, they give our online businesses good results.

Google just knows it has the monopoly, That doesnt mean there are no other options available to you.

      • AdWords can be maddening.

You have to know what a conversion is worth to you, test ads constantly at least in the first few months, refine your keywords...

Some people don't have the patience for it. It took me six months to get a stable ROI. Then the problem was not that the conversions weren't profitable but there simply weren't enough of them.

AdWords books (for Dummies) like to talk about fine-tuning your campaign so that you put a dime in and get a quarter out every time. In reality there's a limit to how many times you can do that, depending on your keywords. I got my site to the point it was #1 for all my keywords on all the search engines and at that point I thankfully kissed AdWords goodbye.

Spend money on getting organic traffic instead, without handing out $5 bills on the nearest street corner.

The OP said $5, and I assume that to be referring to sales conversions rather than visitors. I could be wrong though.

These days it really is not that worth it anymore. As new 'bid minimum depending on keyword quality' object came, it has become a rather expensive way to promote the services. It does not pay the investment with its returns.
