Odd Adsense Happenings. Any Ideas?

So I have a website which was going great for about 4 weeks or so. Making about $10 a day in adsense. I noticed a drop off in earnings and noticed that the homepage started showing public service ads yesterday. Now today its not showing public service ads but its only showing 1 ad block rather then 3 and its stuff for Sony TV's and Poland Spring water rather then insurance like it has been showing for weeks.

Heres the extra weird part. All the other pages on the site show the ads just fine except the homepage. I had some issues with this site in the past where certain wordpress themes were giving me php errors so I stuck with the one theme that wasn't, so I thought maybe there was some behind the scenes coding going wrong or something.

Now lets say the homepage is insurance.com. The homepage is just a static version of insurance.com/insurance. When I load insurance.com/insurance all the ads show fine, so its obviously not a coding issue since both pages are the same. Any ideas whats going wrong? Will adsense ever stop serving ads to 1 page of a website? I have 15 other sites with no problems.

I had a similar experience on one of my sites. Adsense was showing ads totally unrelated to my site. Was a WP site as well. Turned out the homepage had been hacked. Wouldn't show up in view source, had to download the htacess and robots.txt to check. Was a real pain in the bum as well. They had hacked the SQL db as well so cleaning the effected pages only lasted so long till it was affected again. May not be your problem but worth checking.

Yea to mirror what was said above, I had a friend who had his site hacked and his adsense code changed to a hackers adverts which game him referrals and looked identical to adsense adverts (but they weren't).

Luckily he found it relatively quickly as he monitors his adsense on a daily basis.

Should add to my above post that looking at your site on the web you won't notice anything untoward. The only clue is the adsense content. The htacess or robots.txt was virtually acting as a redirect to the hackers own pages. I had to download the above files from the html directory to my laptop then open them in notepad. Everything on the web was hidden. The other clue you could look for would be search terms people are using to get to your site in googles webmaster tools, if there are terms there that have nothing to do with your site then that is a good indicator that its been hacked.

Just checked. It doesn't look like any hacking has been done. Now today its back to showing PSA ads. Very weird.
