I have been 'invited' by You Tube to place ads on my videos for adsense earnings.
Is there a way to make decent money like this or is just a case of uploading videos and hoping the clicks come in?
Cheers
Steve

I've heard you can maybe expect to make one dollar per thousand views with the You Tube partner program, so if you got a million views, you might get a thousand dollars.

Awesome that you were invited! They probably invited you because they see your account having unique content and getting lots of traffic. Just keep on doing what you are doing and you will see extra money coming in from your youtube account! grats!

I'm a Youtube partner, I get around $1.06 average per 107 video views.

You have to have 100% (nothing less) original content, that's everything, audio + video. Otherwise don't waste your time, because they will find out sooner or later If your stealing other folks videos.

My highest click was around $2.80 for a single click.

My brother is doing pretty good with Youtube + Adsense, averaging around 3,000 views per day, for all his videos combined.

Youtube + Adsense is so AWESOME because they won't let all the crappy Adsense spammers in the partner program, that means more money for the guys building real content.

I'm working on a system for creating videos where I can pump these quality videos out in larger numbers. I'm actually working on Youtube videos today, I outsource my audio with low cost voice overs.

Agree with this but I'd like to add that it's possible to use music of others. BUT this has to be music created by the YouTubers themselves AND you need to ask their permission, obviously.

This falls in line with one of the biggest, most important things you can and should do on YouTube if you want to make it big on YouTube, network. Connect with others in the community, link back to others through annotations and the description box,... Basically, support each other and they will support you.

Coincidently, I don't know if you've ever heard about Athene (best paladin in the world, if you're into WoW). He's quite known around YouTube and gaming fora. But he's also just a great guy who's interested in the community and trying to do a lot for it. He recently put a clip online (~18 minutes) describing what he did and does to become famous on YouTube and get a lot of subscribers and views.

Even if you don't like his Athene persona or if you're not interested in gaming at all, it's a very interesting clip to watch because it's really all about marketing. In fact, he also shows the Google Keyword tool that he's using to promote his clips (by using keywords as tags). So check it out!
