Do Link Wheels still work for SEO?

I have some niche sites I would like to improve in terms of SEO.

A friend is telling me to start doing link wheels with blogger, wordpress.com, livejournal, squidoo and all these type of sites linking with each other and my niche site.

Do this strategy works good these days?

Cheers!

Yes they do work. If you are new I would outsource the link wheels to someone on this forum. Just give them your sites information pay them and sit back and watch the link juice grow.

Be warned though, because from what I have researched, link wheels appear to be black hat, so you MIGHT get your website penalized (most people don't though).

The harder I work, the luckier I get.

I would suggest doing a test with a relatively unimportant website to determine if you get slapped with a sandbox penalty. It can still be a very effective tool but your results may vary

I'd rather say that investing your time and effort by creating one-way links is way much better than doing linkwheels. Google has been eyeing people who create linkwheels.
