Hey Guys, I am still new to SEO but have been having great success by outsourcing to warriors here on this form. Here is my question, I own market samurai and use it with a couple of other tools for niche research.

My question is this, I understand the difference in back links pointing to the domain versus pointing to the page but what I want to know is will it he difficult to outrank a site that has thousands of links pointing to the domain but not to the actual page that is ranked in Google for my targeted keyword.

Example: when I analyze my competitors the number of back links pointing to their domain is 75k but their number of. Links pointing to the specific page may only be 5-6k which doesn't scare. Me near as much.

If I have proper on page seo done along with back links that contain my anchor text, should I be able to outrank this competition 4-5 months of steady work?

Thanks

Google ranks pages, not domains. So I only worry about the links pointing to the page. Still consider the amount of links pointing to the main domain though, because some of that juice may still be flowing through to page level you are looking it. As for outranking your competition, it really depends on the competition of the keyword you're targeting. Yes, they have 5-7k links pointing at their page, but what are the quality of those links? Are they high PR? Are those links using the anchor text that you're targeting? If they are low quality, low PR links and are not using your anchor text, you should be able to outrank them with some high PR links with your target anchor text.
