I meet a girl from the US and she works creating links only in yelp & facebook. She is making pretty good money out of these two sites it seems. Anyone here used yelp and how is it helpful in creating links.. ?

She's doing basic social media marketing, which is really effective. You need to be more wary of your demographics though. Social media marketing needs more precision than SEO when it comes to producing content.

    YELP REVIEWS:

Yelp is only to be used for "Local Reviews". One needs to have an established "Yelp Review Account" before they can begin posting any reviews. Yelp is extremely selective as to whom they allow to post a review. If you post any reviews & are not one of their "Chosen ones" - they will take your review off.

You'd need to spend some time becoming a trusted Yelp reviewer. Go to their website & follow their rules.

The key to Yelp is to get the reviews posted naturally. One way around this is to contact a reviewer in your selected industry & make friends with them. Look for a high-profile customer & reach out to them. I realize this is a process. That's why Yelp is so valuable - it cannot be done "automagically". After one has a few nice chit chats with a Yelp reviewer, it would be safe to ask them if they'd be willing to go to "XYZ Business" and post an honest review after they do. Stress that you only want their honest opinion & you would provide an incentive (such as a free meal in said restaurant), just for checking the place out.

Granted, this is a LOT of work. If you have a properly motivated business customer, they are usually willing to shell out $1,000 a month or more, in order for you to help them get more customers from Yelp. Keep in mind that they generally spend a ton of money in the Yellow Pages & may not see much income from that. Always stress the return of income on the "Lifetime value of a customer".

For instance, a dentist may see a person for a Cleaning - but, they come back for fillings, root canals, gold & enamel crowns, teeth whitening & etc. I, personally, have spent over ten thousand dollars on my teeth in the past few years. Good teeth are one of the signs of a successful person. I wouldn't dream of switching my dentist - now that I have a good one. I went to several dentists before I found one that I trusted.

Best of luck to you with Yelp,
    Madam X
