Hey all, I have a couple questions. Im building my first site and im using wordpress with yoast and clickbump seo to optimize my content as well as my homepage so far.

1. Is optimizing my first page good enough or should i choose keywords for each page and optimize each?

2. when choosing keywords im getting lost for some reason. I look at spyfoo to see what my competitors are using as keywords and it looks like this...

ORGANIC KEYWORDS 6

2 Anchorage carpet cleaning
4 Anchorage carpet cleaners
12 cleaning sofas
27 clean sofas
32 best deal
32 carpet protectant

3. Can someone help me understand what im looking at here?

4. When selecting keywords or keyword phrases, which is better, ie Carpet cleaning phoenix or carpet, cleaning, phoenix
#content #keywords

You should start with making your keyword list and keep it in mind when you add content.

You'll probably have up to a dozen keywords. The number of web pages is usually much bigger even for small websites.

Thus, rather than choosing a keyword for each page, identify landing pages you want to show up in search results for each of your keywords.

"Carpet cleaning phoenix" is better. It will bring you targeted traffic.

First of all your should select your main keywords for your home page and remaining or niches and try to optimize all pages.
Secondly you should go for less competition keywords first and then go for high one.
Thirdly you should know well what the site offers and choose the most appropriate keywords.
Lastly it is a good approach to use long tail keywords because they are of less competition as well as well descriptive of your site.
    Hope you will understand

The whole content should focus on your targeted keywords. You can repeat your keywords and related words in your text, but keep in mind it don’t overdo where your content looks like spam, and grammatically should be correct.

Well In My Opinion You should Select keywords for all pages which you want to target! The Major Emphasis should be Home Page Keywords First! Rather then Targeting all High Volume Keywords in your Meta Settings it is batter approach to target some Middle range and low level keywords as well!
