Adding content to a dreamweaver site

I would like to add content to my dreamweaver site. I realize that most people use wordpress for this exact reason but I am super comfortable in dreamweaver and have always used it.

My question is this, can I just add pages to my site with helpful articles and then include a link to the landing page that I want to promote? I could add a submenu to one of the nav bars at the top of the page. I just feel like it is time for me to pump up my content and I would rather not convert completely to word press.

Is there an easy way to add a wordpress blog to a dreamweaver site? I have seen a lynda.com tutorial about editing a wordpress site using dreamweaver and was considering that but would rather not go that far.

    It's really easy to add a Wordpress blog to any site, just install Wordpress to a directory such as winecountrycarpet.com/blog.

    If you're trying to integrate a Wordpress blog into your current site, that's a different story.

      I think that would work fine, I will probably just add the blog to a directory. My goal is to add content to my own site instead of giving it to article sites. I would love to get the content on the actual landing pages but that would include integrating and probably a major restructuring that I am just not ready to take on.

      Do you think i will get much of an advantage from adding content to the site in general without it being on the landing pages? I am by no means trying to rank these blog posts (it is a service site etc) I am just hoping that the added content will help the ranking of the landing pages (backlinks from blog posts etc)

        If they are more formal articles, I would add them as subpages to the lander. If you're going for more of an informal, "what's going on in the industry"-type posts, I would do a blog.

          I think they would be a bit more formal, think like "How to not ruin your carpet" kind of stupid stuff, but people do ask the questions all the time. I think it will be easiest for me to do it by just using the dreamweaver wysiwyg editor and just adding text to the pages.

          Do you think i will get much a benefit for my landing pages by having more content on the sites subpages? I am not planing on using a lot of city keywords ie "carpet cleaning my city" but instead just write my article and do a sig at the bottom on anchor text back to a landing page.

          Does google notice the structure of a site? like if i add them as sub pages to a landing page will more of the content count for that landing page?

            Do you have a sitemap? It should make it easier to see the layout of your site.

            I think you'll get more benefit if you place your articles on your lander, because you'll have more exposure to them and also more links.

    Dreamweaver itself is just a "what you see is what you get" program that will help you write code for pages within a site. All of your pages are going to be php or hmtl once you are done with it. You can open those same pages in any text editor and work with them.

    If you are wanting to add pages, just take any of the pages that you like the layout of and are wanting to make for your new page. Once you have done this, you can rename the file and work with it from there. Most of your work will already be done and all you need to do is edit the information. Once you are complete, do your internal linking that you are wanting and put it it the directory. Update your site map and you are good to go.

    If you are wanting to add a blog to an existing HTML site, then you are going to need to add a a new folder or subdomain. Once you have done this you can get with your hosting company so that they can set up the Wordpress software for you. Make you a link in your main sites menu bar to your blog, and start having fun.

    I am concidering just adding textareas with the blog posts in them. I assume they are crawlable? this will I believe be my best solution. I can maintain the cleaner layout style while still adding content.
