Email Traffic to site with Adsense on it...still unclear about this...?

Hi all,

I still can't find a clear answer about this subject.

I'm building a high quality news-type site in the general health niche. Good quality content from a variety of authority sources with my own commentary; attractive layout, etc.

There'll be a small Adsense block in each post.

I found a site which allows you to sponsor their email list (not sure, might be once a week they send). Their list is over 300,000 double opt in subscribers. That could mean big, targeted traffic.

The thing I'm not clear on is this: Is it okay to send traffic from someone else's double opt in list to my site?

Not talking about putting in an ad like "Click these ads!". No - in fact, the owner of the list requires a public-service style message. Sounds nice and clean.

What d'ya say?

Thanking you.

I don't see why this would be a problem, though I am no Adsense expert.

Long term you would be better off replacing the Adsense Ad with a Feedburner email optin form, get the traffic to optin, then send them a Feedburner/Adsense email.

I have a couple of threads here in the SEO forum that specifically targets Feedburner/Adsense, check that thread out, I think it will help you out with this type of traffic.

If that traffic is already a double optin on another guys list, the traffic is already pre-qualified for signing up for email list (they have a history of subscribing).

Can you share how much traffic they will send (full 300K?) & the cost, If not I understand.

      Hi there,

The Feedburner thing sounds interesting; I'd have no idea how to go about that, since this is really the first time I've even taken the time to look at what Feedburner even is...but I'm gonna look for your threads at read some more.

In the short-term, the site I was thinking of targeting (assuming the site to whom I'd inquire about email list sponsorship says yes too, since they're an extremely large health news site themselves, lol), doesn't say on the site how much they ask for a site to sponsor an email or if it's the full 300K - I'd have to contact them by email or phone, myself.

Cheers - let me know if you have any further thoughts.

      Best Regards

Basically, feedburner is the only free way you can get your own Adsense Ads inside an email while following the Adsense TOS. Google owns Feedburner.
